eclinso is providing global helpdesk services for various pharma customers for many years. With offices in Europe, the USA and Australia and the appropriate infrastructure in place, eclinso is able to provide heldpesk services 7 days a week and 24h a day in various languages (e.g. English, French, Spanish, German).

eclinso has completed Metronomia's qualification and training package on the clincase EDC system in February 2012 and has taken over global helpdesk services for two multi-regional phase II oncology studies with an eCRF. 

"This 24/7 support option was the last component we had to add to our e-clinical services package in order to be fully operational on a global basis" said Dieter Meyer, Managing Director and Head of e-Clinical Services. "During the last three months we have made signifcant investments into our eCRF online and self training offerings as well as into extending our support coverage. In conclusion, we are now able to provide e-clinical services on a globla scale - at high quality with a competitive pricing."   

This week the IWRS has already been deployed for a clinical study where central randomization and medication logistics with on demand medication delivery are crucial due to high medication costs. 

The IWRS system provides a modern and intuitive user interface, a very flexible user rights management and a state-of-the art backend technology. The functionality of the new IWRS release covers nowadays standards in drug supply management and includes for example 

• management and release of packing slips and shipment notes
• fully customizable approval process for drug shipments
• drug accountability and complete traceability of all transactions
• submission of electronic temperature log files for evaluation
• automated delivery of study medication according to pre-specified or flexible visit schedules.

The system is off course compliant with 21 CFR Part 11 and the EU Annex 11 and a full audit trail is included.

Jens Knösel, the system owner and development lead of the IWRS, says: "This IWRS continues the successful tradition of Metronomia's IWRS system, which was used for many years in central & dynamic randomization as well as drug supply optimization."

eCRF trials with clincase eCRFs have already been provided and supported by Metronomia in Singapore, Thailand and Brasil (beside almost all European countries), the first US is a further milestone on a way to providinig fully global e-clinical services.  

It' the first time that we at Metronomia see more eCRF project being abwarded to Metronomia than paper-CRF trials. All new customers decide to go with Metronomia's e-clinical services built around the EDC system clincase. 

The success has mutliple reasons:

• The powerfull and very user friendly EDC system clincase
• Metronomia's professional services and long lasting experience in EDC trials
• The time is right to go with an eCRF

Metronomia engaged the well-known Munich graffiti-artist “Loomit” to redesign the buildings’ external façade together with Metronomia team members and the kids. Common rooms got a new paint, a large number of broken bicycles were repaired, a common kitchen was fixed, the garden was put in order and a number of berry bushes were planted. The kids were delighted about numerous donated toys and clothes.

In reverse, the inhabitants cooked a delicious meal for Metronomia and the kids showed traditional dances.

At the end of the day, it was a great joy for everyone involved to see the results of the work done and a precious intercultural experience to be taken home.

After an initial phase II leukemia trial with a clincase eCRF has been completed successfully in early 2010 with excellent feedback from investigators and CRAs, our customer decided to go for clincase eCRFs and Metronomia services with subsequent clinical trials in oncolgy.

One contract is for a multinational pivotal leukemia study, the other contract covers a phase II exploratory study in leukemia.
